The typical sequence of events for a KCS adoption include:
- KCS Opportunity Assessment: understanding and sizing the opportunity
- Assessment results presentation, executive briefing and buy-in
- Selection of the KCS Council
- KCS v6 Practices Workshop and Certification for the KCS Council (Design Session)
- The workshop and the Design Session may be completed as part of the same multi-day session or done separately
- First version of foundation program documents are prepared (Performance Assessment, Workflow, Adoption Strategy, Content Standard, Strategic Framework)
- First technology update (if required to start practicing KCS Solve Loop)
- Coach Training
- Wave I
- Knowledge worker training
- Updates for foundation program documents
- KCS Publisher licensing
- Wave II (and each subsequent wave)
- Knowledge worker training
- Updates for foundation program documents
- KCS Publisher licensing
- KDE (Knowledge Domain Expert) training and Evolve Loop activities
